Personality

Distinguishing Traits: Though compassionate and empathetic to others it might not show immediately due to Malon's harsh and work-driven exterior. She's the type of person who often takes on more responsibility than she can handle healthily (because who else is going to do it and do it well). Driven and passionately she can accomplish much. But, usually, it comes at the cost of her emotional well-being. She's often impatient, exhausted, anxious and caffeinated. Known to have mood swings and temper tantrums when extremely unnerved (though she does so in private). Expects a similar level of dedication from colleagues and becomes exasperated when her standards are not met. Has trouble trusting others and letting go of leadership responsibilities.

This behavior comes from a genuinely well-intentioned place. Malon believes it's her mission in life to help others and improve the quality of life for humans and Pokemon.

History

Growing up Malon never believed that she would become as engulfed in the anti-poaching movement as she has. Having grown up in the Church of Arceus Malon was raised to see Pokemon and people as equal in deserving of compassion and understanding. For the most part, however, she focused her efforts into getting into medical school (a challenge, coming from a relatively humble background). It was until she began her practice did she become more aware of the danger of poaching--many of her patients were victims of wild Pokemon, now groomed to distrust all humans because of the actions of a few. It came to a point where Malon couldn't ignore the social climate and steadily her efforts shifted to aiding Pokemon.

Now she uses her medical background to take care of injured Pokemon to heal their bodies and trust in humanity. She has a growing family of Chanseys she's rescued, and she uses their healing abilities in her practice. She maintains this makeshift medical center in a hidden safehouse in the forests outside Celadon city (on Route 7). She goes back and forth through air travel, and makes regular visits to Celadon city.

• An athletic man at heart, Siba is clearly noticeable by his size alone.

Personality

Distinguishing Traits: In one word, discipline. Siba is dedicated, hard working and remarkably inner driven; he views the world in long-term goals, and has no problem with working hard and working long to meet those goals (or, at least, he pushes through any problems he has). He takes what he does very seriously. That said he has a very positive outlook on life, believing that good ultimately outweighs bad (with time and dedication of course). He believes positivity is essential to maintaining one's goals, and so he tries to be a positive voice to the people he cares for.

He believes in reflection and planning before action, viewing organization as a trademark of inner discipline. However, this often makes it difficult for the young man to make decisions on the fly. He also has a history of overthinking situations to the ground. When he finds himself straying from his standards he can be incredibly self critical. For the most part Siba is a patient man, but crossed he becomes an ugly sight.

History

Siba was born on Boon Island, one of the Sevii Islands located on the outskirts of the Kanto regional sea. Having come from a long line of disciplined fighters Siba and his brothers were raised from an early age to appreciate hard work and exercise. They often sparred together affectionately, and saw competition as a healthy part of life. Though their family income was meager his father never considered poaching Pokemon (instead relied on fishing to make end's meet). This set the message to Siba that Pokemon were to be treated with respect and kindness. When he came of age Siba decided to go out into the Kanto region to find work. However, still being young and foolished, he didn't quite conceptualize how difficult that might be. Eventually he realizes he could make a modest income offering self-defense lessons for people against the wild aggressive Pokemon in the region. It was this phenomenon that made Siba more aware of the harm of poaching. He now dedicates himself largely to the anti-poaching cause. He travels largely with Lance, a fellow trainer whose Pokemon he saved during a nasty confrontation.
